Check out our pumpkin patch when you stop into school! Apple Tasting!! They loved the different flavors and the ways each one tasted! But oh was that green one sour!! Applesauce!! Everyone had a chance to help. We peeled, cut and added the apples. Then sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and water. After we all "smashed" the apples. Finally after all our hard work we tasted! Looks like 2 thumbs up all around! It was wonderful to meet so many of you during supply drop off night! I am super excited for this year and from the looks of all your kiddos, they are too! Enjoy your last few moments of summer and I look forward to seeing you all Wednesday for the first day of Kindergarten!!!
So much has been going on! And I am going to try to catch up on posting what we have been up to. We spent quite a bit of time talking about the different states of matter. We learned all about solids, liquids and gasses. We had a blast making our snowman and watching what happened to him. Here are some pictures from our outdoor club outing…. Even though we didn’t have a ton of snow, we made it work!!! Last week was Catholic Schools week and we were BUSY!!! Here are some pictures from our great adventures. Bowling.... Board Games, Oogie games, and Basketball Oh MY! Not much has changed this week either! So far we have made Valentine’s Day cards for Seniors and Veterans with Legislator Ted Morton. He will be delivering the cards to the Niagara Falls Airforce Base where our love and thanks will be sent to those who serve our country. This week, we will be playing a school-wide game of BINGO on Thursday! How exciting!! We will be exchanging Valentine’s on Friday and I will bring in some yummy sundae treats to enjoy!
We just finished up with Ettabetta and today were introduced to our final superkid Hot Rod. There are tons of cool things on the website. I hope you child finds an opportunity to do some reading and game playing over the holiday. In math, we are working on weights and measurement. Heavier than, lighter than and the same as. It has been super looking at two completely different things and see that they weigh the same! Only a few more days until vacation! If you are traveling, safe travels! If you are having a staycation, have fun!!! Thank you for your ever continuing support in your child’s education! Miss Sudyn I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far. We have been very busy since before Thanksgiving, so here is an abridged version of what Kindergarten has been like! Happy Thanksgiving! We continued working on STREAM and stories from the Bible. We made tunnels to help Moses lead the Israelite's from the Pharaoh to freedom. Your children are doing an absolutely amazing job reading. We have started working with sight words that are going home in your child's take home folder every Monday. We practice here at school and it will only make them stronger readers if practice continue's at home. Our SuperKids are so much fun too! We are just finishing up Lily which means we have mastered 6 letters and sounds and are now reading sentences and books using our decoding skills!!!! The website is up and if I received your confirmation and e-mail you are signed up to use the sight. You will find books and games available that the children have learned and should be able to decode. New stories and games become available as we continue to learn more. Our 7th Grade friends came and helped us write some letters to Santa and to our Elf Jesse telling both all the good things we have done and why we should be put on the nice list this year! I would like to take a moment and thank each and everyone of you for ALL of you generosity the holiday season! I know how short time and money is, but with your help we have given your children a wonderful gift too... they have the sweetest hearts and have learned that we can help others in so many ways. With the Thanksgiving food drive, pj donations, our adopted family your children have shown warmth and generation to those who are not as fortunate as we are. THANK YOU!
Hello! Here comes the craziness of the Holiday season!!
I have just a few quick requests. We will be doing a STREAM project requiring paper towel and toilet paper rolls, not the whole roll, just the cardboard part. If you have any to send in that would be wonderful! We are also doing a food drive within the school and will be presenting our donations at Thanksgiving Mass on Wednesday November 25th. We have spent a great deal of time discussing the needs of others this holiday season. Any non-perishable food item you can send would be greatly appreciated! I also sent home a sheet about parent teacher conferences today. Please review and send back as soon as possible please. Thank you again for all you do in support of your child’s education! Miss Sudyn This was such an amazing week, weather and learning was so grand! I just couldn't stay inside any more and we just had to take some time to play in the leaves! We also worked really hard on our boats. As we continued to learn about Noah and prepare to build our own boats there was a ton of excitement. What we created was amazing! It was great to see that not everyone got off to a smooth start, but, by working together, going back and correcting some elements based on what we knew about how a boat floats, we created boats that floated and carried small animals.
What a crazy busy week! In spooktacular fashion we learned all about bats and spiders, we carved a pumpkin and did a few fun experiments! Finally, we ended our week with trunk or treat and a fantastic Halloween party in our classroom. How exciting! We also got some new class pets!!! We finished our last SuperKid, Alf on Thursday, and will be meeting a new character on Monday. I have added all the students to the classroom portal and for those who returned their e-mail, I have updated that as well. With this, go on to the website and explore! You will find games and activities that your child can do for the current SuperKid and any of the previous characters as well. If you would like access, please send in your e-mail and I will sign you up.
