Parents,
I am very excited to launch our new website and blog! I will be updating with classroom and school news. This is still in the infant stages and I will continue to update information as the school year progresses! Please let me know if there is something I might be missing or something you might like to see.
This week we wrapped up our plant unit. The children have been working very hard on learning all about living and non-living things, the parts of a plant, how a plant grows and the life cycle of plants. We have done experiments and hands on activities that I believe they had a great deal of fun with. We currently have monsters with hair (grass) growing in the classroom which the children will be bringing home before Easter break.
In math we have begun identifying and describing 3-Dimensional shapes. As you are enjoying vacation have your child keep a look out for objects that represent these 3-D shapes. Here is a video they have enjoyed watching in the classroom.

A few more things as I finish up, there will be an awards ceremony next week Wednesday before Easter vacation at 12:00 in the gymnasium. Following the ceremony I would like to do a pancake celebration (it seems many conversations revolve around pancakes =) with the kiddos and enjoy a video as we begin our Easter holiday.
Over vacation I will continue to update the website and add upcoming events, projects and themes. I did want to share this with all of you so that we can begin a new line of communication. I hope you all have a Happy and Blessed Easter vacation!
